What is the purpose of grinding and polishing the lamp housing?
1. Improve aesthetics
Eliminate surface defects: remove burrs, scratches, welding marks, oxide layers, etc. to make the shell surface smooth and uniform.

Enhance gloss: After polishing, a mirror or matte effect is formed to enhance the visual sense of luxury (such as the metallic texture of metal and the light transmittance of acrylic).

Unify the appearance: avoid affecting the overall design style due to rough surface or uneven color.

2. Optimize functionality
Improve light efficiency:

For reflective materials (such as aluminum lampshades), polishing can enhance the light reflection efficiency and improve the lighting brightness.

For translucent materials (such as acrylic), grinding and polishing can reduce light scattering and make the light softer and more uniform.

Easy to clean: Smooth surfaces are not easy to accumulate dust, reducing the difficulty of later maintenance.

3. Enhance durability
Anti-corrosion and anti-oxidation:

After polishing, the metal shell can be further protected by plating or anodizing to delay rust.

Remove surface micropores and cracks to reduce moisture and dust penetration.

Reduce wear: Smooth surfaces reduce friction resistance and extend the life of the shell.

4. Meet process requirements
Prepare for subsequent processes:

Surface treatments such as spraying and electroplating require a flat substrate, and grinding and polishing can improve adhesion.

Make sure the surface is free of impurities before laser engraving or silk screen printing.

Meet industry standards: Some lamps (such as medical and explosion-proof lamps) have clear requirements for surface roughness.

5. User experience and safety
Comfortable touch: Avoid sharp edges or burrs that scratch the user.

Avoid glare: Fine polishing can control the angle of light reflection and prevent glare (such as car headlights and indoor downlights).
